We can’t all spend summer on an all-inclusive cruise sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun. But who said we can’t have fun?
Whether you’re too young to drink, or you’re just not into it, we’ve made a list of five summer mocktails to help you chill.
Oh, and I forced the Snapchat AI to name them, for fun!
Blueberry Basil Lemonade
“The Blueberry Basil Bliss”
Mash fresh basil and blueberries in a glass, then add ice and lemonade. Stir well, and garnish with a sprig of basil.
The basil adds a refreshing flavour, while the blueberries give that summer vibe. Just be careful you don’t get sour berries!
Virgin Piña Coladas
“The Pineapple Paradise”
Blend pineapple juice, coconut milk, and ice until smooth. Pour into a glass and add a slice of pineapple, if you’re feeling fancy.
If you’re not a fan of coconut, like me, or you’re allergic to nuts, it tastes just as nice with some single cream, and makes for a smooth texture.
Mango Lassi
“The Mango Tango”
Blend fresh mango chunks, plain yoghurt - we used Greek - and honey until smooth. Pour into a glass, and add a sprinkle of cardamom, if you have it.
I honestly have no idea what cardamom is, and never would have heard of it if it wasn’t for Bake-Off…
Sparkling Raspberry Limeade
“The Raspberry Refresher”
Mash fresh raspberries and some lime juice, pulp optional, add some syrup and ice. Fill it up with soda water, or any other fizzy pop you like, and pop a raspberry on top!
If you’re planning on making a few of these, I recommend the Monin syrups, but you could always blend some raspberries and honey and keep that aside to use!
Lavender Lemonade
“The Lavender Love”
While that name might make you want to boke, this simple floral sip definitely won’t.
Steep lavender in hot water - lavender teabags will do - and allow the water to cool before mixing it with lemonade. Easy.
Of course, you can spruce up any of these by adding a sugar/salt rim around the lip of the cup, and using your fanciest glasses.
So, whether you’re drinking or not this summer, these cheeky little mocktails are perfect to pair with a summer’s day, and can help to make sure nobody is left out of garden parties, or other occasions this summer.
Let us know if you try any out! If you post them with the hashtag #HollrHappyHour we’ll repost them on our story.
